Concrete is durable and stands the test of time in form, but it does require a level of care for its finish to prevent it from staining. It will patina, just as any wooden furniture might, and it will stain if liquid is left on it to set, with oily or acidic liquids being more intense, but it shouldn't stain colors. For more on what to expect from your concrete, read of guide to long-term concrete. For prevention and care, read our Care Guide.
Depending on the scale of the project, we can take anywhere from two weeks to two to three months to complete design, build and install. Make sure to enquire as soon as you can to start the process and receive a firmer estimate.
Generally, concrete can be shaded naturally depending on the mix of white and grey concretes used. For particularly dark, or tinted pieces, we can add pigments to the concrete to achieve a particular look and feel. Take a look at our colors and finishes guide to mix and match our samples.
Your finish and seal are intended to protect your concrete long-term, but do require re-application every 1-2 years for the best longevity. With concrete, if you're looking to keep it pristine, prevention is key. Avoid leaving spills for long periods. We try to embrace the character that comes with a weathered concrete. You can expect hairline cracks, small stains and other ornamental changes over time. We like to embrace concrete over time as a living, breathing material! Check out our care guide for more details.
